Survey Monkey Results:

These are the results from my survey. I used a software called 'Survey Monkey' to create my survey and then I sent my survey to my friends and family via email and social media links. Overall 23 people completed my survey and this has been extremely useful in making my Motown magazine to suit my intended audience.

Question 1

 

From this I can see that the majority of the people who took part in my survey were females. Therefore my magazine is going to be aimed more towards females.

Question 2

These results show that 19/23 people who took part in my survey were aged 16-26.  This means that this is going to be my target audience for my magazine.

The majority of people who filled out my survey were students. This means that my magazine will have to be at a resonable price.

 18/23 people siad that there avaergae yearly income is £0-£10k.

Design Of My Masthead

Masthead Design

Style Of Masthead:

The font which I like best for my masthead is Bauhaurn 93. This is because it has a vintage feel to the style, it will be recognisable and it looks unique. The reason why I have done lots of examples is to make sure I found the right style to suit my genre. The style which I dislike the most is Rosewood STD, this is because it doesn't fit into the genre of my magazine.

Survey Monkey:

In my survey I found that 20 people said they would be willing to pay £4-£4.50 for a monthly Motown magazine. Therefore my music magazine is going to cost £4.50 and it will be published monthly. This is because I have looked at existing costs of music magazines and compared the data with my audience survey.

A Fashion Magazine

This shows the front cover and contents page of a fashion magazine called XOXOTheMag. This magazine also consists of music and art features. The reason why I took inspiration from this magazine is because it shows a black woman as the main and only artists on the front cover. This is something I would like to show on the front cover of my music magazine.
